The licence

Shotbar is free to download and use, for personal or commercial purposes, at no charge. This is a licence to use the app, not a transfer of ownership: you may not copy, modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, redistribute or resell the software, or any part of it, without our written permission.

No fee, no key

There is no purchase, no licence key, no subscription and no paid tier. Builds are fully functional and exports are never watermarked. Supporting the project on Ko-fi is optional and unlocks nothing, because nothing is locked.

Warranty

Shotbar is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We work hard to make it correct, and we describe its behaviour on this site as accurately as we can, but we cannot promise it is free of defects or fit for a particular purpose. Keep your own backups of anything that matters.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors are not liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from the software or its use, including indirect or consequential loss such as lost data or lost profit. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury or fraud.

Your content

Screenshots and recordings you make with Shotbar are yours. We never receive them and claim no rights over them. You are responsible for having the right to capture what you capture, and for complying with any recording-consent laws that apply where you are.

Trademarks

The “Shotbar” name and logo are not covered by the licence to use the app — please don't ship a bundle or a lookalike under the Shotbar name in a way that suggests it is the official build.

Changes

If we change this page we will update the date at the top. Continuing to use Shotbar after a change means you accept the updated terms.
